SALVAGE YARDS SHUT DOWN

THE STATE ORDERS TWO SALVAGE YARDS INVOLVED IN A MULTI-MILLION DOLLAR CRIMINAL SCHEME SHUT DOWN.  THE LICENSES FOR GIBSON IRON AND METAL IN NEENAH ALONG WITH FOX VALLEY IRON AND METAL IN OSHKOSH ARE REVOKED FOLLOWING THE CONVICTION OF OWNER STERLING KIENBAUM.  KEINBAUM TOOK SALVAGE VEHICLES FROM HIS YARD—PACKED THEM WITH DIRT—AND THEN RE-SOLD THEM TO SADOFF IRON AND METAL IN FOND DU LAC FOR INFLATED PRICES.  THE SCAM NETTED MILLIONS OF DOLLARS OVER SEVERAL YEARS.  THE BUSINESSES HAVE UNTIL THE END OF THE YEAR TO PROCES OR RECYCLE THE VEHICLES THEY ALREADY OWN.  FIFTY PEOPLE WILL BE LOSING THEIR JOBS.
