EMPIRE, Wis. (WFRV) – A 40-year-old man is in custody at the Fond du Lac County Jail on several charges after allegedly shooting the tire of a parked vehicle early Monday morning, authorities say.
According to a release from the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded at 1:00 a.m. on Memorial Day to a home on Marys Avenue in the Township of Empire for reports of shots fired.

Once on scene, Witnesses told officials that one man had fired a single round from a handgun into the tire of a vehicle parked in the driveway that had two people inside of it at the time.
The suspect had left the scene prior to the arrival of deputies, but he was located nearby and taken into custody without any further issue during a traffic stop.
A handgun was recovered from the suspect during his arrest, and deputies report a single shell casing was recovered from the driveway with a bullet located underneath the vehicle’s tire.

The suspect and the occupants of the vehicle are said to be known to each other, and an earlier altercation led to the shooting incident.
The 40-year-old man is currently being held at the Fond du Lac Jail on the following charges:
- Multiple Recklessly Endangering Safety
- Discharging a Firearm into a Vehicle
- Pointing a Firearm at Another
- Criminal Damage to Property
- Disorderly Conduct
- Carrying a Concealed Weapon
- Possession of THC
- Possession of Hallucinogenic Substances
No one was hurt during the incident and an investigation is ongoing.
