MENASHA, Wis. (WFRV) – The Menasha Joint School District is negotiating with Winnebago County to take over the University of Wisconsin–Oshkosh Fox Cities campus childcare center, which is set to close on June 30 due to declining enrollment.
During the May 27 School Board meeting, Superintendent Matt Zimmerman announced that the district plans to lease and operate the center at no cost to taxpayers, relying on fees from attending families to cover operational expenses.

As the university prepares for its closure, the Weis Earth Science Museum’s collections will be relocated to the History Museum at the Castle in Appleton.
The plan for the childcare center will be voted on at the next Menasha School Board meeting on June 23, ensuring continued access to essential childcare services for local families.
