GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – Officials with the Brown County Sheriff’s office have confirmed that one person has died as a result of the Monday morning crash on WIS 172.
The crash first occurred at 9:15 a.m. in Green Bay at the intersection of WIS 172 and Webster Street. All lanes, both east and westbound of WIS 172, were closed, and traffic began to rapidly back up in the immediate area.

Around 11:00 a.m. WisDOT had put out an alert signaling that the westbound lanes were reopened, and the rest of WIS 172 was reopened around 11:30 a.m.
According to a post on social media from the Brown County Sheriff’s Office, one person was taken from the scene to the hospital, where they were later pronounced dead. Officials say no alcohol or drugs are believed to be a factor in the crash.
