GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – No one can say for certain where Ed Policy will rank among the Green Bay Packers’ leadership historically, but early impressions suggest the team is in capable hands moving forward.
On Tuesday, Policy met with members of the media, and Local 5 Sports Director Burke Griffin sat down with the incoming President and CEO to ask if there’s any real pressure following in the footsteps of Bob Harlan and Mark Murphy—two men who helped build a strong foundation for the franchise.

“I think whether it was Bob, or Mark, or now me, the Packers organization is just three pretty simple purposes, and we’re here for three reasons: to win football games, to keep the Packers in Green Bay, and to strengthen our community,” Policy said. “So I would say both of them are huge shoes to fill. The good thing is I got them both, and they both told me they’re at my disposal for any advice I may need or anytime I need to talk to them.”
Policy was elected as the organization’s next chairman of the board, president, and CEO. He will formally assume the role in July 2025 at the Packers Annual Meeting of Shareholders, when current President and CEO Mark Murphy officially retires.
Policy joined the Packers in 2012 as vice president and general counsel, and was promoted to chief operating officer and general counsel in 2018.
His professional background includes nine years in executive leadership with the Arena Football League, where he served as commissioner, president, and CEO. He also spent a year as an executive consultant with the NFL.

A native of Youngstown, Ohio, Policy is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame and Stanford University Law School.
