APPLETON, Wis. (WFRV) – City officials in Appleton say two brand new murals were recently made in celebration of the local culture and history found throughout the city.

In one of the murals, the one labeled DOWNTOWN, popular events like the Lawrence University graduation, Mile of Music, Oktoberfest, Cruising the Ave, and the Farmers Market can be seen throughout the art piece.
The second mural, the one labeled APPLETON, features different iconic figures that can be seen throughout, such as Harry Houdini, Rocky Bleier, and Edna Ferber.
The APPLETON mural also showcases historic firsts like the Edison Powerhouse and the first electric trolley powered by hydroelectricity.
Both vintage postcard-like murals were created by local artist Chad Brady, and they can be viewed at 823 West College Avenue next to JJ’s Laundromat.
