GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – With girls’ flag football becoming more popular throughout the country, officials with the Green Bay Packers announced the team will once again be hosting its ‘Girls Flag Open’ event.
According to a release from the Packers, the third annual Girls Flag Open event will take place inside the Don Hutson Center and will allow ten Wisconsin high school girls’ flag football teams to participate in a skills challenge, round-play, and a single elimination championship and consolation tournament.

This year’s event will feature teams from Appleton North, Appleton West, Franklin, Green Bay East, Greenfield, Kickapoo, Muskego, Oneida Nation, Oshkosh West, and Verona Area high schools.
The day’s schedule of events is as follows:
- Team skills challenge – 9:00 a.m.
- First session of round-robin play – 10:55 a.m.
- Lunch and a special speech from Global Flag Ambassador Victoria Burgarella inside the Johnsonville Tailgate Village – 12:00 p.m.
- Round-robin games resume – 1:40 p.m.
- Start of single elimination tournament games – 2:55 p.m.
- Awards ceremony – 4:45 p.m.
The third annual ‘Girls Flag Open’ event is scheduled for Friday, June 20.
