RACINE, Wis. (WFRV) – Often, police work goes unnoticed in the community, but one Wisconsin department worked together to turn a recent theft into an opportunity for kindness.
According to a social media post from the Racine Police Department, a young man had his BMX bike stolen from a Walgreens over the weekend.

His mother told officers the bike was his only means of transportation to summer school. Because of her disability, she is unable to drive him.
Officer Arvai happened to have a mountain bike he could donate. On Saturday, Officers Arvai, Pellegrino, and Keland delivered the replacement bike to the young man, identified as Jayden.

“We appreciate Officer Arvai’s kind gesture. It brightened Jayden’s day,” the department said in its post. “Sometimes, even the smallest acts of kindness can make a big difference.”
Anyone with information about the original bike theft is encouraged to contact the Racine Police Department. For now, however, Jayden is back on two wheels and able to get to school.
