APPLETON, Wis. (WFRV) – Officials with the Appleton Police Department are working to address the needs of the community after launching a new community survey.
According to a release, the survey is being launched to get direct feedback from Appleton residents regarding public safety priorities, community concerns, and perceptions of police services with the goal of enhancing the Appleton Police Department’s ability to make data-informed decisions about resource allocation, programming, and strategic outreach efforts.

As a part of the Department’s ongoing commitment to transparency, equity, and community partnership, officials say the survey will be a critical tool that helps the department identify what issues are most pressing to the public and where police presence is most needed.
The community’s voice is essential in shaping public safety strategies that are both responsive and equitable. We are asking for honest feedback to help us understand what is working, where we can improve, and how we can ensure that our efforts truly reflect the priorities of the people we serve.

The community survey is said to be anonymous and will take only an estimated two to three minutes to answer questions about various topics related to neighborhood safety, police visibility, and the perceived effectiveness of current initiatives.
Officials say the survey will be analyzed and used to inform the following:
- Patrol strategies and officer deployment.
- Community policing initiatives and engagement opportunities.
- Resource allocation for crime prevention and intervention programs.
- Long-term strategic planning and partnership development.
