OSHKOSH, Wis. (WFRV) – A 24-year-old Oshkosh man was sentenced Monday to six years in prison for a 2024 stabbing that left a 20-year-old man dead.
Court records show Sybastian Crossman pleaded no contest in April to a charge of homicide by negligent handling of a dangerous weapon or explosive. He was sentenced to six years in prison, followed by five years of extended supervision.

The charge stems from an incident on Saturday, Aug. 10, 2024, when Oshkosh police were called to the 500 block of High Avenue for a report of a stabbing.

Investigators say Crossman, then 23, and the victim—who was known to him—were involved in an altercation with multiple people. During the incident, Crossman stabbed the 20-year-old victim, who later died from his injuries at a local hospital.
Crossman fled the scene but was located the following day, shortly before 3:45 a.m., at a residence in the area.
