APPLETON, Wis. (WFRV) – The City of Appleton and Appleton Water Utility have made a splash nationwide after earning silver in the People’s Choice Tap Water Taste Test for 2025.
After previously winning ‘Best Tasting Tap Water’ in Wisconsin during the Wisconsin American Water Works Association (WIAWWA) annual fall conference, The City of Appleton went on to represent the Dairy State during the 2025 American Water Works Association (AWWA) annual conference in Denver.
During the 2025 AWWA conference, Appleton earned second place in the ‘People’s Choice Tap Water Taste Test’ after attendees sampled and voted on their favorites from across the country.

Finishing first was Denver Water in Colorado, and right behind Appleton, the City of Bloomington in Minnesota finished third.
“A huge shoutout to our Appleton Water team for their dedication to quality and service. Your commitment flows through every drop,” the City of Appleton Government stated in a Facebook post.
