MAPLE CREEK, Wis. (WFRV) – Two people, a man and a woman, were both seriously hurt following a single-vehicle crash Tuesday evening in Outagamie County.
According to a release from the Outagamie County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded around 5:00 p.m. to County Road D near County Road W in the Town of Maple Creek for reports of a single-vehicle crash.
Officials say a preliminary investigation showed that an SUV had been traveling southbound on County Road D when it left the roadway and crashed into a tree.

The driver of the vehicle, a 49-year-old man, and a passenger, a 50-year-old woman, both from Bear Creek, were taken by Gold Cross Ambulance to a local hospital with serious injuries.
Speed and alcohol are believed to be factors in the crash, which left the roadway closed for about three hours.
