PACKWAUKEE, Wis. (WFRV) – One person is dead after being struck by a vehicle Friday morning in central Wisconsin.
According to the Marquette County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded shortly after 6 a.m. to a report of a vehicle-versus-pedestrian crash in Packwaukee.

The pedestrian suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the vehicle has been identified and is cooperating fully with the ongoing investigation.
Several roads in the area were temporarily closed to ensure the safety of first responders and to allow for a thorough examination of the scene.

“This is a deeply difficult and tragic situation for everyone involved,” the sheriff’s office said in a statement. “Our thoughts are with all those affected as we work to understand the circumstances surrounding this incident.”
The incident remains under investigation. Authorities say more information will be released as it becomes available.
