GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – With the Fourth of July fast approaching, the Green Bay Police Department and Green Bay Metro Fire Department are teaming up to remind residents about the dangers of illegal fireworks and the importance of safe celebrations.
In a press release from the Green Bay Police Department, in an effort to reduce injuries and fires caused by fireworks, officials are sharing important safety tips and reminders:

- Illegal Fireworks: Bottle rockets, mortars, firecrackers, and anything that explodes or leaves the ground without a permit are illegal.
- Legal Fireworks: Sparklers (under 36 inches), smoke bombs, noisemakers, and some novelty items are generally permitted.
- Safety First: Even legal fireworks can be hazardous. Always supervise children, have water or sand nearby for disposal, and be mindful of dry conditions.
