MADISON, Wis. (WFRV) – A Wisconsin-based insurance corporation that previously laid off more than 300 employees earlier this year has announced plans for additional job cuts.
According to a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) letter submitted to the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development (DWD), Wisconsin Physicians Service Insurance Corporation (WPS) says it is reducing resources across the company at one of its Monona locations.

The affected site is at 1717 W. Broadway in Monona. Officials clarified that while the building uses a Madison mailing address, it is physically located in Monona.

As part of its reduction plan, WPS says 51 employees will be separated from employment beginning Sept. 30, 2025. The company indicated that these layoffs are expected to be permanent.
This marks the eighth WARN letter submitted to the DWD in June 2025.
