MANITOWOC, Wis. (WFRV) – A motorcyclist was hospitalized with significant injuries after a crash with a minivan in Manitowoc, and officers say the driver of the minivan was cited for a traffic violation.
Just before 8 p.m. on Thursday, July 3, first responders with the Manitowoc Police Department and the Manitowoc Fire Rescue Department were sent to the intersection of Maritime Drive and North 8th Street after reports of a crash.
When authorities got to the scene, officers found a motorcyclist lying on the curb, being assisted by bystanders. The motorcyclist was then taken to a Green Bay hospital for treatment of ‘significant’ injuries.

According to the release, the crash happened when a minivan allegedly failed to yield the right-of-way. Officers say the driver was cited.
It was also noted that neither speed nor alcohol appeared to factor in the crash.
