WAUTOMA, Wis. (WFRV) – Dozens of employees will be laid off as the Wautoma Piggly Wiggly prepares to shut its doors this fall.
According to a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) filed with the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development, 56 employees will be laid off when the store, located at 975 E. Main St., closes in September 2025.

The closure is part of StoneRidge Meats and Country Market Inc.’s plan to expand its wholesale division. Company officials say the building will be repurposed as additional storage space to support wholesale operations.
While the decision will affect 56 workers, StoneRidge says employees have been offered jobs within the wholesale division and may also be considered for openings at the company’s other grocery store locations in nearby communities.
