OSHKOSH, Wis. (WFRV) – Officials involved in the construction of the new ThedaCare Medical Center-Oshkosh campus provided an update with photos of the progress, which is still on track.
According to a release, ThedaCare, which began construction on the site in March 2024, will complete the building later this year at 250 West 6th Avenue. Crews have made significant progress on the facility, which was planned for east side residents to be closer to a hospital.

“As we were planning, we found that nearly 73% of Oshkosh’s residents live east of Interstate 41, while most of the current health care services are located west,” North Region President Lynn Detterman said via a release.
Detterman said that people on the east side of the Oshkosh area were then more than 15 minutes away from a hospital or emergency room, and that made the campus extra important.
“We know during emergencies, time is critical,” Detterman said in the release. “That is what led us to create the campus at the current site – to meet people where they are.”
The progress of the construction has seen the completion of concrete curbs, exterior glass and several interior design aspects underway, including flooring, painting and wallcovering.

The sidewalks are nearing completion, as paving and landscaping are underway. An $84 million investment helped kickstart the project, which is expected to be around 114,000 square feet.

The massive campus will feature countless things, including emergency care, inpatient beds with 24/7 coverage. Further plans include scans, x-rays, ultrasounds and a plethora of other critical hospital features, even including a drive-thru retail pharmacy.
The campus’s completion is on pace to be later in 2025.
