MILWAUKEE, Wis. (WFRV) – Over 50 employees of a food service contractor are being laid off after Ascension Living sold one of its southeastern Wisconsin facilities.
According to a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) letter submitted to the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development, TouchPoint Services’ contract with the Ascension Living Alexian Village facility on North 76th Street in Milwaukee is being terminated early due to the sale of the location.

Officials with TouchPoint Services called the termination an “unforeseeable business circumstance,” saying they only learned of the upcoming end of its services on June 6.
Due to the sale, 52 TouchPoint Services employees will be laid off effective August 1. Officials believe the layoffs will be permanent.
It was also noted that there were no union employees at the Ascension Living account.
