ADAMS, Wis. (WFRV) – An investigation is currently underway in central Wisconsin after a 5-week-old newborn baby was found unresponsive before later dying at the hospital, authorities say.
According to a release from the Adams County Sheriff’s Office, deputies received a 911 call on Saturday, July 5, from a home in the City of Adams reporting that a 5-week-old infant was unresponsive.
The City of Adams Police Department responded to the home along with LifeStar Ambulance Service, which took the 5-week-old baby to Gunderson Moundview Hospital.

The infant was later moved to UW Health American Family Children’s Hospital in Madison, where the baby later died on July 9.
Officials with the Adams County Sheriff’s Office say anytime an infant death occurs in the county, a formal investigation takes place.
