SHEBOYGAN, Wis. (WFRV) – After a 13-year-old was reported missing, on Tuesday, recovery efforts for a water rescue concluded on Wednesday after officials say they found the teen dead.
According to the Sheboygan Fire Department, the 13-year-old was reported missing from the area of the Jaycee Quarry Park at 2:09 p.m. on July 15.
Door County Sheriff’s Office at ‘active scene,’ residents asked to avoid area
Rescue efforts made from several area agencies resumed at 7:00 a.m. Wednesday morning and ended sometime later after officials confirmed they had found the 13-year-old’s body in the quarry.
At a press conference, the Sheboygan Fire Chief confirmed the news of the teen’s death.

Around 11:50 a.m., divers found the 13-year-old’s body in roughly 40 feet of water near the ‘last seen point.’
Officials with the Sheboygan Police Department say an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident is ongoing.
