FRANKFORT, Wis. (WFRV) – A 10-month-old boy was killed and four others were hospitalized following a single-vehicle crash Wednesday afternoon in Marathon County.
According to the Marathon County Sheriff’s Office, the crash happened shortly before 4:45 p.m. in the 22100 block of State Highway 97 in the Town of Frankfort.

Authorities say the SUV had been traveling south when the driver lost control and veered off the roadway, crashing into a creek. Wet road conditions are believed to have played a role in the crash.
When emergency crews arrived, they found five people inside the SUV. The 10-month-old boy had been ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver, a 34-year-old woman, and three passengers — a 1-year-old girl, a 4-year-old boy, and an 18-year-old woman — were all transported to the hospital with minor injuries.

Highway 97 was closed for approximately four and a half hours as investigators worked the scene and cleared debris.
