(WFRV) – With cat population levels soaring at Wisconsin Humane Society’s Green Bay and Door County locations, the organization has launched two new initiatives to help find cats their forever homes.
To help encourage adopter interest, officials with the Wisconsin Humane Society (WHS) in Green Bay and Sturgeon Bay have added new initiatives to pair with their Kitten Buddy Pricing.
The first new initiative adds an incentive to adopting an adult cat, with adopters receiving a coupon for 50% off any item in their Animal Antics store. That deal runs through the end of July.

The second initiative is offering a fresh look at WHS’s “Name Your Own Adoption Fee.”
“Since 1999, WHS’s adult cat adopters have been able to name their own adoption fee, or waive the fee entirely, when taking home a new family member. But new kennel cards illustrate the shocking value of adopting an adult cat from WHS,” Media Specialist of the Green Bay and Door County Campus Corey Viars explained in a release.
All cats at WHS are spayed/neutered, given initial vaccines, and microchipped before going home. They also go home with a free bag of starter food, a certificate for a free vet exam, and other adoption perks. However, at WHS, adult cat adopters can pay $0 to take their new family member home.

Now, if you adopt two kittens, the second kitten will have 50% off the adoption fee.
“With the rising costs of pet care, we are proud to be able to remove barriers to pet ownership,” said Corey Viars, media specialist for the Wisconsin Humane Society Green Bay and Door County Campuses. “These initiatives not only help get cats into loving homes, but they also help show the community what we do for local animals and the people who love them.”
All the proceeds from the store go back to helping local animals and the people who love them.
