APPLETON, Wis. (WFRV) – A driver who was spotted speeding at more than 90 mph on Highway 441 in Appleton was arrested for OWI after crashing into a truck, causing both to flip over.
A Facebook post from the Appleton Police Department shows the aftermath of the crash and details the recent crash that happened during an OWI enforcement detail on Highway 441.

The incident began when an officer spotted a car going 91 mph on Highway 441. As the officer tried to catch up to the speeding vehicle, the car crashed into a truck.
The impact caused both vehicles to roll over and land upside down on the highway. Officers say the initial crash caused a secondary crash shortly afterward.

The driver of the speeding car was then arrested for OWI 1st Offense – Causing Injury.
“We do not ask you to drive sober because of numbers or quotas. It’s because tragedies can happen in an instant,” stated Appleton PD’s Facebook post.
