The Latest from Storm Team 5…
The wildfire smoke returned today on the backside of a cold front and for a time it was pretty thick across the area. An east wind will push that out over the course of the night so expect clear skies to arrive late and a low in the mid 50s.
Tomorrow, big day here in northeast Wisconsin, EAA 2025 day 1! Besides a few PM clouds, it will be a very nice and comfy day to open up the event. Highs, mid 70s lakeside, upper 70s to low 80s for the rest with comfy dew points.
Then the heat and humidity is on for the remainder of the week. Tuesday looks like a mix of sun and clouds with a chance of some rain and storms late evening and overnight. Highs in the upper 70s to low 80s, with muggy dew points in the upper 60s.
Wednesday and Thursday are days we need to continue to monitor for two reasons. Highs in the upper 80s and low 90s paired with dew points in the mid 70s will produce heat indices in the upper 90s and low 100s, especially Wednesday.
With waves of low pressure moving in Wednesday and Thursday, they will be tapping into a very thunderstorm rich environment, which brings on the potential for strong to severe storms. The activity looks mainly north of Green Bay Wednesday, with a more widespread chance of storms on Thursday.
Looks like we do dry out besides s chance for a shower or storm Saturday night, but the warm temperatures and muggy dew points linger onwards.
