DOOR COUNTY, Wis. (WFRV) – Officials in Door County say that an item reported as suspicious in a county park was deemed not harmful to the area.
Deputies responded to the scene of Cave Point County Park around 3:41 p.m. on Tuesday for a report of a suspicious item in the park, quickly taking precautionary measures to protect people.

The park was cleared to ensure public safety. An investigation into the report revealed that the item was a ‘geocache’, a container used in an outdoor game where people use GPS devices to find hidden containers at marked locations.
The area was deemed safe and reopened for normal use.
