GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – The Green Bay Packers are set to begin training camp on Wednesday morning, meaning that the long-time tradition of players riding fan’s bikes to practice is soon to begin.
“Practice starts at 10:30 tomorrow morning, but the big thing is that the DreamDrive opens up, so kids can bring their bike down, and you can wait for a player to ride your bike down to practice,” says Packers assistant director of live events Kandi Goltz,” “That’s always the big thing before practice on the first day.”

Once all the players have taken bikes down to Ray Nitschke field, fans will get to watch who will make this season’s roster.
“It’s always exciting, football is right around the corner, I mean the first game is gonna be here before you know it, so people are excited to see the new team,” says Goltz, “Just the excitement of the players in their jerseys, its just a lot of fun, a lot of fun.”
With the Packers getting into the swing of preparing for the season ahead, will bring many fans from around the state, and the country.
“Obviously, it’s a big local attraction too, a lot of folks from around the area like to go, we usually see from around 50,000 to 80,000 throughout the training camp process,” says Nick Meisner, the VP of digital marketing for Discover Green Bay, “Plus the preseason games that are going to be going on, there are big things going on for the team this year, there is alot of excitement.”
Leading all roads back to Lambeau Field, and to when the Packers host the Lions for their Week 1 game, but gets started on Wednesday.

“I was a bike kid growing up, so it’s cool seeing that continue, and its another thing that makes Green Bay unique, there is a lot of things that do that, and it’s just another one to come and see,” says Mesiner.
The Packers still have Family Night tickets for August 2nd, and will be having multiple open practices the rest of the summer.
