The opening concert initially began to provide campers with more entertainment, featuring a new hub, which includes a stage, a bar, food trucks and more.
Organizers also recently decided to make it a full and free kick-off to promote the full festival to everybody, not just the campers.
“We had a few people who aren’t camping ask if they could attend this concert because they like the two acts that are playing,” Oshkosh Festivals Marketing Director Mindy Klein said via a release. “We realized this could be an opportunity to get some new people to the grounds.”
