The Latest from Storm Team 5…
Emerging sunshine has helped bring on the heat and humidity this afternoon. A HEAT ADVISORY continues for areas south of HWY 29 until 8pm.
A cold front moving into Wisconsin will bring showers and storms this evening and into the early part of the overnight for areas north and west of Green Bay. Areas south of Green Bay, like those at EAA this evening, should stay mainly dry.
With the heat and humidity out there, strong to possibly severe storms are possible. Main impacts would be damaging winds, downpours and cloud to ground lightning, but an isolated spin up tornado can not be ruled out. Rain and storm threat should end around midnight.
Thursday expect a mixture of sun and clouds and the warm and muggy air to stick around, as highs reach the low to mid 80s and dew points return to the upper 60s.
A weak trough digging in will spark a few spotty showers and storms especially for the afternoon. It is likely these will stay non severe, but a strong storm producing brief downpours, gusty winds and small hail can not be ruled out.
Friday looks dry but muggy once again under mostly sunny skies. High temperatures in the low to mid 80s. A few pop up thunderstorms are possible on Saturday, but it is not looking like a complete washout.
Sunday for the final day of EAA, mostly sunny with highs in the upper 80s and low 90s. We will likely have to monitor for heat index values reaching close to 100 once again. Rain and storms are possible overnight Sunday.
