MADISON, Wis. (WFRV) – Several juveniles were cited following a disturbance Wednesday night at the Memorial Union Terrace on the UW-Madison campus.
According to UW-Madison Police, officers responded around 8:45 p.m. to a report of an altercation involving 7 to 10 individuals. The confrontation reportedly stemmed from an earlier dispute between two groups on State Street.

One group arrived at the Terrace first, with the second group arriving shortly after. The situation escalated when one person used pepper spray on members of the other group, and at least one individual punched another during the incident.
Officers quickly responded, identified several victims, and issued citations to one person for disorderly conduct, underage alcohol consumption, and assaultive behavior. The two remaining suspects, including the one believed to have used pepper spray, have not yet been identified.

No serious injuries were reported, and the pepper spray did not impact any other Terrace guests. Victims who were sprayed declined medical treatment but were assisted by police.
