FOND DU LAC, Wis. (WFRV) – Firefighters worked to control an equipment fire at Milk Specialties in Fond du Lac early Saturday morning that caused the evacuation of the building and operations to be suspended.
A release from Fond du Lac Fire Rescue states that crews were sent to Milk Specialties in the 300 block of Tompkins Street just after 5:30 a.m. on July 26.
It was initially reported that a piece of equipment was on fire.
Crews worked with maintenance staff to identify the heat source inside a dryer with a conveyor system. The building was then evacuated, and plant operations were suspended.
Firefighters worked quickly to put out the fire and monitored air quality while ventilating the building.
No injuries were reported.
