(WFRV) – A wanted man in Shawano County, deemed by officials to be “armed and dangerous,” is now in custody after reportedly turning himself in.
According to a release from the Shawano County Sheriff’s Office, Michael Thorson, a wanted man out on a felony probation warrant and for his connection with multiple thefts and burglaries throughout Shawano and Marathon County, turned himself in on Sunday.

Thorson, who was believed to have tried to disguise himself from authorities by shaving his head and his facial hair, voluntarily turned himself in while still sporting longer hair and facial hair.
Deputies say that following Thorson’s arrest, they will now begin working with other agencies to begin speaking with him about his potential involvement in several recent incidents in multiple counties over the past couple of weeks.
The Shawano County Sheriff’s Office issued a sincere thank you to the public for sharing their posts pertaining to Thorson that played a significant role in pressuring him to turn himself in.
