SEYMOUR, Wis., (WFRV)- For His Majesty Gardens is ran by a couple, with thousands of day lilies popping up in their garden every day, with proceeds going towards an important global cause.
The owners, Dan and Kitty Doersch, cross breed different types of lilies creating new and unique varieties. They have registered around three hundred new types of lilies for people to buy and plant in their own gardens.

Dan says this process takes a whole year. “We take the pollen from one plant and we put it on top of the stigma, and that’s easy but then we need to keep track of the parents with a tag.”
“And then starting February 1st we plant them and they have both parents tag on them and we plant them in the garden. We see thousands out there, we know every parent with a map,” Doersch said.
This small business is doing more than just trying to make a profit. Half of their sales each year go to ELCA World Hunger, an organization that works to fight hunger and poverty in 75 countries around the world, including the United States.
“We’ve been blessed with so much so why not give back,” Doersch added.

As their business grows, so does the amount of lilies they have each year. This allows them to sell more, giving more back to fight hunger.
“That amount of money keeps going up and up and the more we can bless others, which is pretty cool,” Doersch said.
So far, they have raised nearly $1,500 for the organization.
