FRANKLIN, Wis. (WFRV) – One person is dead and another is significantly hurt following a motorcycle crash Friday night in Manitowoc County, Officials say.
8 people hurt following boat explosion in Wisconsin, DNR investigating
According to a release from the Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded at 8:27 p.m. to reports of a crash involving two motorcycles on County Highway G, to the north of Taus Road in the Township of Franklin.
Authorities say an initial investigation shows that two men were riding their motorcycles north on County Road G when 54-year-old Tobin Rueckl from De Pere appeared to lose control of his motorcycle, leading to 30-year-old Cody Zahn from Brillion also losing control.
Rueckl was ejected from his motorcycle and died as a result of the crash. Zahn was significantly hurt during the crash and was taken by ambulance to an area hospital.

Officials report that neither man was wearing a helmet, and both alcohol and speed are believed to be factors in the crash.
At this time, no other information is available, and an investigation is ongoing.
