DE PERE, Wis. (WFRV) – Leeann Busse, a longtime educator known for her humor, heart, and unmatched presence, died unexpectedly on July 25, 2025, at age 50.
In a Facebook post, the Unified School District of De Pere honored Leeann Busse as a dedicated educator of nearly 30 years who shaped generations of students, most recently at Fox View Intermediate.

She was known as the “soul of the school”, a fierce advocate for kids, a mentor to colleagues, and a master of mischief. Her infectious laugh and perfectly timed jokes brightened every room she entered.
Beyond the classroom, Leeann was a devoted wife, loving mother, and tireless traveler. Her legacy lives on in her husband Chris, their two children, her extended family, and countless students whose lives she changed.
A celebration of her life will be held August 2 at Cotter Funeral Home in Wrightstown. In lieu of flowers, donations are being accepted for a scholarship fund benefiting aspiring teachers at De Pere High School.
