FOND DU LAC, Wis. (WFRV) – Police are investigating a domestic disturbance at a Fond du Lac apartment on Tuesday night that left one woman with multiple injuries from a knife.
According to a release from the Fond du Lac Police Department, officers responded at 8:14 p.m. to a 9-1-1 call from a 39-year-old woman claiming to be attacked with a knife inside an apartment on 92 Forest Avenue.

Police on the scene found the woman in the apartment complex parking lot with multiple, serious lacerations to both hands and additional injuries to her chest, back, and upper legs.
While she was taken by the Fond du Lac Fire Rescue to a local hospital, authorities issued a shelter-in-place order while evacuating neighbors as initial reports indicated the suspect, a 43-year-old Fond du Lac man, was still inside the apartment.
Due to the seriousness of the situation, the FDLPD SWAT and Crisis Negotiations teams were called in with additional support from the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office SWAT team. Both agencies also had armored rescue vehicles, K9 units, and Technology Response Groups containing drone and robot resources deployed.
Despite an extensive search, Fond du Lac Police officials say the suspect was not found during the initial response. As of 3:13 a.m., the suspect was reportedly taken into custody by the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office following a high-risk traffic stop.
