(WFRV) – During the month of August, the Wisconsin Humane Society (WHS) will be hosting its largest campaign of the year, where every single dollar donated will be tripled by a generous group of donors.
Officials with WHS say the event couldn’t have come at a better time, with summer being peak intake season and with more than 1,400 animals currently at WHS, every dollar donated makes a huge impact.
“Many animals in the community are in urgent need of shelter, medical care, behavioral support, and a new family to cherish them,” stated WHS officials.

With triple donations, money will help provide lifesaving care kits, public behavior support, and benefit emergency surgery and medical treatment to all animals.
The nonprofit relies on the generosity of surrounding communities to serve more than 40,000 animals and their families every year. This year’s campaign features Doc, a 7-week-old puppy who was suffering from two broken bones in his legs when he arrived at WHS.
After several months, Doc was cleared for adoption and is thriving today with his loving family, with officials saying that none of that would have been possible without its donors’ support.

This August, donations will be matched by the Nicholas Family Foundation, Barb Gilman and her pup Sassy, Judith Ford, Dave & Judy Hecker, Patricia Bachhuber, Patti and Jack McKeithan Northwoods Fund, Kathleen Ryan, an anonymous donor, and Nancy Behrens – who donated in memory of Aggie & Gracie, the most wonderful rescues anyone could ask for.
Officials also thanked Virginia Kress and The George Kress Foundation for matching all gifts made to the Green Bay Campus, and to the Ruud Family Foundation for matching 100% of new donations and 50% of gifts from returning donors to the Racine Campus.
