SHEBOYGAN, Wis. (WFRV) – Authorities in Sheboygan County identified the driver who was arrested for OWI and the 23-year-old who was seriously injured in the crash on Lakeshore Road on Monday.
According to the Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Office, the two-vehicle crash happened on Lakeshore Road near Willow Creek Lane in Sheboygan around 9:55 p.m. on Monday, July 28.
Preliminary investigation indicated a car traveling south on Lakeshore Road, driven by a 52-year-old man from Sheboygan, was attempting to turn when it hit a northbound car. The driver of the northbound car, a 23-year-old man from Sheboygan, was transported from the scene via Flight for Life with serious injuries.
Authorities identified the victim as Cody T. Goetsch.
The driver of the southbound vehicle suffered minor injuries.

Deputies noted that speed was a factor with the northbound vehicle, and alcohol and failure to yield were factors with the southbound vehicle.
The 52-year-old, later identified as Donald C. Hammond Jr., was arrested for operating while intoxicated, causing injury.
The investigation is still ongoing.
