APPLETON, Wis. (WFRV) – The Hope Highway, based in Appleton, welcomed 22 furry friends to town as they met with Foster families on Friday.
22 dogs were flown in from the south, some having been sitting in a shelter for years at a time, many facing possible euthanasia due to space concerns.

Many of the dogs sat in shelters after being verbally abused by owners or even neglected. Some of the dogs, according to The Hope Highway, had no idea this could happen after so long, but they’re finally close to finding their ‘furever’ family.
The Hope Highway’s President/Founder, Jill Brauer, posted images of the dogs on Facebook as she expressed gratitude that the dogs were able to come up to Wisconsin and get a second chance.
“We have babies on this transport that never would have known what life was. They would have left this world thinking that cruelty and doggy prison were all there was,” Brauer said. “Now they have a chance to experience adventure, love and the hopes of a wonderful future.”
