THE LATEST FROM STORM TEAM 5…
We are beginning our Sunday with areas of patchy dense fog that should burn off fairly quickly throughout the morning. That will lead to mainly sunny and comfy day with high temperatures in the upper 70s and low 80s.
However, we will have wildfire smoke linger about the area today both aloft and at the surface. An AIR QUALITY ALERT is in effect until noon today for the entire state. The next update comes in at 11am, where I do expect this will be extended.
Tonight, mostly cleat skies with lows in the middle and upper 50s. Smoke will continue to linger, so keeping the windows closed is likely a smart idea.
Monday will be another quiet and comfy day for us, expecting mostly sunny skies with areas of smoke. Highs in the low to possibly middle 80s.
The latest forecast does call for the smoke to drift east throughout the day Tuesday. Highs should reach the low to mid 80s once again under a mixture of sun and clouds.
The week will start comfy, but muggy air finally catches up to this warm up back into the 80s. While there is a small rain chance on Wednesday, better rain and storm chance moves in Thursday with scattered rain and storms, mainly in the morning hours.
