APPLETON, Wis. (WFRV) – After Friday’s landing at the Appleton International Airport, 22 pups are staying in foster homes. After being in Texas and having rough backgrounds, they were able to find a second chance right here in the Fox Valley.
And it brings much excitement to Hope Highway and their fosters.
“I see something in need, I know that I got space, and we have a lot of love to give, and I like I said, we have been doing this for a while now, so I mean look at this, how could you say no to a little face like this,” says longtime foster Jessica Jischke.
The Hope Highway provides nearly two dozen dogs with a second chance through Fosters in Wisconsin
The fosters were on the runway Friday, picking up the dogs, and showing them how beautiful the world is, and being able to experience many things, like the outdoors, for the first time.
“And that’s why I do it, because I see where these little guys and these foster animals that we bring in go, and that they are so loved by their families, and it’s like okay, that’s why we do this,” says Jischke.
Fosters will take care of the animals until they are adopted or are taken back by the foster family if an adoption is unable to take place.
But getting to see these pups take on a new challenge is always exciting for the President of Hope Highway, Jill Brauer.
“Our fosters, really, I mean, for us it is very exciting, it is so exciting, but I get as excited as the fosters, watching them get excited, so with each tiny step, it is a big reward,” says Brauer.
Each time they take part in a rescue, it’s the smiles on the fosters and the dogs that make it all worthwhile.
“It is always exciting to know that they’re starting a new adventure, and we know that where they are going is going to be wonderful and safe, a new beginning, and that is exciting.”
