APPLETON, Wis. (WFRV) – The President of the UW-system, Jay Rothman, was in Appleton on Wednesday to discuss the expansion of the Direct Admit program.
The Direct Admit program gives qualified high school students direct admission to up to ten UW schools without them ever having to submit an application.
Students must choose to participate in the program and are admitted based upon their grades and course work after Junior year.

“For our Sophomores and Juniors to now see that this is truly an option, I think that could help incentivise a ‘let’s keep our nose down and do our work and do what we need to do [mentality]’,” said Michael Hernandez, Assistant Superintendent for Secondary Education.
The only UW universities that are not included are Eau Claire, La Crosse, and Madison.
