BELOIT, Wis. (WFRV) – Officers in southern Wisconsin are investigating a hit-and-run that killed a 37-year-old motorcyclist after finding an abandoned SUV shortly after.
According to the Beloit Police Department, an officer came across a crashed motorcycle near White Avenue and Riverside Drive on the morning of August 9.
Officers say the hit-and-run happened around 1:50 a.m. and the other vehicle involved is allegedly a blue 1999 GMC Jimmy. It had left the scene before law enforcement got to the scene.

The motorcyclist, a 37-year-old man from Beloit, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The GMC was reportedly found abandoned sometime later and was recovered by officers. It was not stated where or when it was found.
