OSHKOSH, Wis. (WFRV) – For college graduates, walking across the stage and receiving a diploma is the first step to getting a job. But for the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh, eight out of ten people who walked the stage will already have a job lined up.
This data was found in the First Destination Survey, taking the results from graduates from the class of 2023-24 school year.
“83% of those students have a positive career outcome, doing the work they love in their communities, and as you’ll see the work the salaries they are getting are going in the right direction,” said Dr, Martini, Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs.

91% of instate students stay in Wisconsin post graduation from UW Oshkosh.
“If we can put students out there, doing the work that they love, partners that are passionate about what they do, earning a good salary, so they have every incentive to stay here, to grow here, as individuals, as professionals, as families from northeast Wisconsin,” said Martini.
ThedaCare is the main contributor for this, employing the most UW Oshkosh graduates out of any other local employer in northeast Wisconsin.
They offer internship programs, which gives students first hand experience before entering their desired field.
“We are so happy we have that ability for them to get real life experience while getting an education at the same time,” said the regional president of ThedaCare, Lynn Detterman.
