SHAWANO, Wis. (WFRV) – In celebration of the annual National Night Out, the Shawano Police Department and multiple other agencies gathered Tuesday at Franklin Park for a chili cook-off.
This was the fourth consecutive year of the chili cook-off, as participants were asked to bring their A-game, cooking a batch of homemade chili to be tasted at the event.
New business joins Green Bay Start-Up Hub, fostering entrepreneurial growth
Three winners were selected; however, the event was more than a chili cook-off and a night of music, awards and prizes. Attendees were treated to a Police K-9 demo and a drone demonstration.
Emergency Medical Services and Firefighters demonstrated some of the work they do to serve and protect the community. National Night Out is an annual event to heighten awareness of crime and drug prevention and strengthen the relationship between police and citizens.
