FOND DU LAC, Wis. (WFRV) – The Fond du Lac Dock Spiders turned stolen bases into community support this season.
According to a press release from the team, for every base stolen at Herr-Baker Field, Silica For Your Home pledged $50 to the Boys & Girls Club of Fond du Lac. The Dock Spiders swiped 70 bags at home in 2025, adding up to a $3,500 donation.
The release highlights it’s the third year of the partnership, which combines baseball excitement with youth support. Dock Spiders players stole 147 bases overall this season, the second-most in team history.

Silica For Your Home President John Schneider said the program makes the game even more thrilling. “Each swiped bag made the season even more exciting as we watched our donation grow,” he said.
Boys & Girls Club CEO Dan Hebel said he’s “incredibly thankful for the generous suport” and said it will make a big difference for local kids.
The Dock Spiders will celebrate their 10th season in 2026.
