TOWN OF CALUMET, Wis. (WFRV) A lightning strike set off a house fire in Fond du Lac County Monday afternoon, but no one was hurt.
According to a press release, the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office said the strike hit a home on County Highway G around 1:14 p.m. The homeowner reported hearing a loud bang a noticing electrical flickers before finding smoke coming from the bathroom.

Fire crews from multiple departments arrived to find smoke coming from the roof. The blaze was contained to one corner of the home, causing only minor damage.
All residents and pets escaped safely. County Highway G was briefly closed for about an hour while emergency crews responded.
