DOOR COUNTY, Wis. (WFRV) – Authorities in Door County are investigating after a body was discovered Tuesday morning in the water near the Nicolet Bay Campground at Peninsula State Park.
The Door County Sheriff’s Office said it was notified shortly before 8:15 a.m. and immediately responded to the scene. Deputies and emergency personnel located the body of a 61-year-old woman. She has been identified, but her name is being withheld at this time.

Peninsula State Park remains open, and officials are encouraging visitors to stay cautious and be well-prepared when exploring remote or rugged areas.
The incident remains under investigation.
