GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – Officials in Green Bay are seeking a potential increase in the parking rates across the city, with the Common Council voting to approve a proposal Tuesday night.
The vote was 10-1 in favor of the proposal, which will increase the $1.00 parking hourly rate to $1.25 starting in 2026, as Green Bay’s rates are lower than several similarly-sized cities.
Parking citation rates and late fees hadn’t been increased in five years in the city, and the proposal called for a $2 increase in those rates starting in 2026.

In a parking rate report from Christopher Pirlot, the Director of Parking & Operations for Green Bay Public Works, he proposed the increase, stating that the Parking Division has to generate all of its revenue to cover expenses such as operating, maintenance and more.

- Increase parking rental rates 3% rounded up to the nearest dime
