BELOIT, Wis. (WFRV) – Authorities say one man in Wisconsin has received a 25-year prison sentence after being found guilty of sexually assaulting and impregnating a 14-year-old victim.
According to a release from the Rock County District Attorney’s Office, shared by the Beloit Police Department, officials say 38-year-old David Hamlet first began staying with the 14-year-old victim’s mother in August 2023, and by December of 2023, he was said to be assaulting the victim.

An investigation led by a Beloit Police Department Detective and a Child Maltreatment Officer showed that Hamlet had been giving the 14-year-old drugs and had sexually assaulted the victim, resulting in the victim’s pregnancy.
He was found guilty of 2nd Degree Sexual Assault of a Child and has received the maximum sentence, 25 years in prison with an extended 15 years of supervision.
We are thankful for a lengthy prison sentenced handed to the defendant in this case. We are proud of this incredibly brave victim who deserved justice in this case.
